Pension Buba
End-to-end brand and web creation
The Challenge
Pension Buba, a family-run bed and breakfast, had no digital presence. The owners—a lovely couple passionate about hospitality—needed a website to showcase their property and attract guests, but they weren't tech-savvy and had no budget for ongoing technical support.
My Role
Brand Designer and Web Developer
Full-spectrum project: brand identity, content strategy, web design, development, and client training
The requirements were clear: create something simple, beautiful, and manageable. They needed to update availability, add photos, and make small changes themselves—without calling a developer every time.
The Solution
I created a complete brand identity from scratch—logo, colour palette, and visual style that reflected their warm, welcoming hospitality. Initially, the website was coded in HTML/CSS, creating a clean, simple site highlighting their key features: comfortable rooms, beautiful location, and local activities. However, it quickly became clear that managing code wasn't realistic for the owners or their children. They needed something more intuitive.
I migrated the site to Wix, rebuilding it on a platform they could actually use. I then trained them on how to make updates—walking them through each step until they felt confident editing content, uploading photos, and managing bookings independently.
Impact
For a small family business, having a professional digital presence was transformative.
The website gave them visibility, credibility, and a way to reach guests beyond word-of-mouth. Most importantly, by choosing the right platform for their technical comfort level, they could manage it themselves—updating photos, changing text, and keeping information current without technical assistance.

Deliverables
Brand identity (logo, colour palette), Website design & development (HTML, then migrated to Wix), Content creation & translation, Owner training & documentation
Reflection
This project reinforced that the best technical solution isn't always the most sophisticated one—it's the one that works for the client's reality. Recognising that HTML wasn't sustainable for non-technical owners and pivoting to Wix was the right call, even if it meant rebuilding the site.
Working with clients who weren't digitally confident highlighted the importance of empathy and adaptability. Success wasn't just about delivering a beautiful website—it was about choosing technology they could actually use and giving them the confidence to manage their digital presence independently.
